Common Questions
Whether this is your first time in therapy or you just haven't found the right fit, it's important to understand why therapy is important.

Is therapy a safe space?
Confidentiality is my number 1 priority.
No matter your age, race, gender, sexual orientation, or gender expression, you are safe here and you are more than welcome.
How long will it take?
There's no one-size-fits-all strategy for therapy.
Every individual situation is different and it's important to recognize that therapy takes time and effort to be efficient.
Is therapy any different than speaking to a friend/family member?
While it's wonderful to have people to confide in, a therapist has the experience and training to address your situation and concerns.

I have the skills to teach you different ways of approaching your challenges. I will listen to you without judgement, something that is often difficult with close family members/friends due to the history of the relationship.

Our sessions are completely confidential. You don't have to feel like a burden to discuss how you are truly feeling.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes each and it is common to schedule them weekly.

After your initial goals are met, some clients tend to have check-in appointments rather than regularly scheduled meetings.
Does going to therapy make me weak?
No! Not at all. It actually means that you have the self-awareness and the personal fortitude to understand that you are struggling.

You are taking active steps to work towards your best self.

Everyone needs help now and again and recognizing this is emblematic of courage rather than cowardice.
